Gambler

Took a trip to Paris, France looking for a queen
I got brave and I took a chance and played the local scene
Jumped all night from bar to bar, but didn't have no luck
I decided I'd gone to far this time and I gave up
And hit the road

Walkin' down the avenue a lady caught my eye
I didn't know just what to do; she caught me by surprise
She said her name was Jessica and that she lived alone
She asked about America and said she'd take me home
If I would like

Life is hard when you're a gambler
There's so much that you gotta do
You ask me why I say I'm a gambler
I say it's a gamble, girl, to love you

Yesterday desctruction crew were all good friends of mine
I can't condone the things they do, but I can drink their wine
All night long

There's somethin' I should say to you, but words escape me now
All the pain I put you through, then I still lied somehow
I guess you know

Life is hard when you're a gambler
There's so much that you gotta do
You ask me why I say I'm a gambler
I say it's a gamble, girl, to love you
